Key ACA Rules Put On-Hold

  • Proposed auto-enrollment regulations: Employers who have 200 or more full-time employees will be required to automatically enroll their employees into a health care plan unless the employees affirmatively elect to decline coverage.
  • Nondiscrimination standards that apply to all insured health plans.

These rules are currently on-hold awaiting further guidance. This may pose added challenges to healthcare reform preparation as these rules will eventually come in to play in the future. There is currently no target date for the institution of these rules, however, analysts are projecting 2015 as a possibility.
