Supreme Court Upholds Subsidies In Federal and State-based Exchanges

The Supreme Court upheld a key provision of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) today, ruling that subsidies should be available in states that have set up their own health insurance exchanges and in states where consumers rely on the Federal Exchange for subsidies. The 6-3 decision in King v. Burwell means that tax credits continue to be valid in the 34 Federally Facilitated Marketplace (exchange) states.
